"LaMichael James told a phalanx of reporters Friday that he had decided in the previous 24 hours to enter the NFL draft.

James spoke at an impromptu news conference in the Casanova Center.

The 5-foot-9, 195-pound junior, is Oregon's all-time career rushing record-holder.

James said had the Ducks lost to Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl, he would have returned for his senior season. Oregon beat the Badgers 45-38 on Monday in the Rose Bowl.

The Oregonian reported in December, that James had decided to declare for the draft."
