"With about two weeks left until the draft, Observer NBA writer Rick Bonnell makes some early guesses as to who the Charlotte Bobcats' picks might be at Nos. 9, 19 and 39:

With the ninth pick, the Bobcats select....

Either Colorado combo guard Alec Burks or Lithuanian big man Donatas Motiejunas.

The thinking: Burks had to cancel a scheduled workout with the Bobcats because of a shoulder injury suffered the previous day in Milwaukee. Bobcats general manager Rod Higgins says they're working to reschedule Burks, although Higgins already knows the kid well, since Higgins' son, Corey, was a Colorado teammate. Burks doesn't have great shooting range and isn't an elite defender, but he has a knack for creating mid-range scoring opportunities out of nothing with the shot clock expiring. This team certainly needs more creative scorers. Motiejunas would add a 7-footer to a team in need of length inside. He's more of a finesse player (a fine jump shot) than a rugged post-up guy, but great size is a rare commodity in this draft."
