Maurice Porter is once again a Baylor pledge.

Porter committed to Baylor last February after switching from Texas Tech but did not qualify academically and was forced to go the JUCO route. Porter landed at Navarro and improved over the last year. He gave a verbal pledge to Baylor on Friday.

“I was always keeping in touch with coach (Randy) Clements,” Porter told Rivals.com. “When we weren’t playing a game, I always watched Baylor on TV. So I was hoping this was going to work out. It did.”

Baylor lost Huntsville offensive lineman Ronnie Major to Texas earlier this week, but Porter, who stands at 6-foot-6, 295-pounds, is an adequate replacement. He is now the fourth member of Baylor’s 2015 class.

Porter is expected to graduate in December and enroll in January.
