O.J. Mayo moved over to the point guard position in the first half when the time came to give starter Mike Conley a rest.

Griz coach Lionel Hollins called the move strategic to go with Mayo instead of the usual backup, rookie Josh Selby.

"The reason I wanted to consider that was because Andre Miller was their backup point guard," Hollins said. "That would a perfect setting for O.J. to guard Miller. Selby is so inexperienced to guard somebody as savvy as that. And it allowed us to keep Tony (Allen) on the court longer. It allowed us to play (Quincy Pondexter) a little bit more. It all played just right for us in that regard."
