The Edmonton Oilers added Boyd Gordon to their ever-growing pile of players who are done for the season.

Gordon, who has a minor shoulder issue, joins Jesse Joensuu (ankle), Ryan Jones (knee), Nail Yakupov (ankle), Andrew Ference (chest) and Luke Gazdic (shoulder) in the premature summer club.

Gordon hurt his shoulder early in Tuesday’s loss to Colorado, but never left the game.

“Such a great character guy,” said head coach Dallas Eakins. “I was told by our athletic trainer that he wasn’t returning, that he’d hurt his shoulder and was going to be done for the year and suddenly there he is on the bench again.
