Former Ohio State defensive lineman Tracy Sprinkle pleaded no contest today in Lorain Municipal Court to a reduced charge of failure to comply for his part in a bar fight earlier this month.

Sprinkle’s attorney, Michael Duff, told The Dispatch that the redshirt freshman is “very optimistic” about being reinstated to the team. He was dismissed from the team following his arrest July 5 after he was arrested outside the Grown and Sexy bar and charged with possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia and riot/failure to disperse.

Duff said that he had Sprinkle’s blood, urine and hair tested for controlled substances two days after his arrest. All tests came back negative, he said, which was the impetus for the reduced charges.
