Frank Francisco insists he still has supreme confidence in his ability to thrive as closer, even if he did implode before the Mets pulled out a 5-4 victory over the Giants on Saturday at Citi Field.

The righty entered the ninth with a three-run lead, but he struggled. Francisco gave up a leadoff single to Buster Posey, retired Aubrey Huff, then walked Nate Schierholtz. After Emmanuel Burriss drove Posey home with a single to center, Francisco was pulled by Terry Collins.

"It was surprising, but he's the boss," Francisco said. "He made the right choice, because it worked out."
