"Unable to shake lingering knee and back injuries, veteran center Adam Koets was released by the Giants on Tuesday afternoon.

Koets, 27, had spent the season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list and the Giants had until Tuesday to clear him to practice, cut him, or place him on season-ending injured reserve. But Koets had never fully recovered from surgery to repair a torn ACL last season, or a follow-up surgery in August. He also had recently developed back issues that stalled his return."
