"Nuggets power forward Kenyon Martin underwent left knee surgery this summer and an NBA source said, "I don't think he'll be ready for training camp."
Martin is the beating heart of the Nuggets defense, and also played some of his best offensive basketball last winter, before injuring his left knee, which led to platelet-rich plasma therapy in March. Martin returned for the postseason and played valiantly on the still-recovering knee, averaging 10.0 points and 8.3 rebounds.
Martin's rehab will determine when he can return to the court, most likely in the early months of the 2010-11 season.
Martin is rehabbing in different cities this summer, notably Dallas and Aspen, where he's hosting his Hoops for Kids All-Star Celebrity Basketball Camp from July 6-8."
