Notre Dame has promoted wide receiver coach and passing game coordinator Mike Denbrock to offensive coordinator. The veteran coach and Notre Dame assistant since 2010 was given the new title officially on Thursday.

Denbrock replaces former offensive coordinator Chuck Martin. Miami Ohio hired Martin to be their new head coach. Martin left for the RedHawks prior to Notre Dame’s bowl game, so Denbrock filled in as interim offensive coordinator for the Pinstripe Bowl victory over Rutgers. Notre Dame’s offense put together 494 yards of offense, the third highest single game offensive output in the season for the Irish. Notre Dame also executed a season high of 90 plays of offense in the game.
