"As good as Anthony Gonzalez felt Monday, he made no bold proclamations. He has too many scars to be reckless.

"Yeah, I'm being cautious, I guess, just because experience has shown that's probably the way I should be, but I do expect to be OK," the fifth-year wide receiver said of his prospects of playing Sunday, when the Indianapolis Colts open the regular season at Houston. "I do expect to be out there."

The Colts could use him. With Gonzalez (hamstring), Austin Collie (foot) and Blair White (back) hobbled, the team was thin at wide receiver throughout the preseason. Gonzalez and Collie missed three games, White all four.

Reggie Wayne and Pierre Garcon are the only other wide receivers on the roster.

The game-day status of Gonzalez, Collie and White won't be determined until later in the week, but White was removed from the physically unable to perform list last week."
