Norwich are hoping to revive a deal for Everton defender John Heitinga.

The 31-year-old has interest from Fulham, Newcastle and Roma who are also among clubs keen on Manchester United left-back Alexander Buttner.

Last week, Heitinga abandoned a move to West Ham. 'The deal has been cancelled,’ Heitinga said. ‘This has nothing to do with money, but is only about the feeling I got.

‘This might be the most important decision of my career, so everything has to be just right. We reached the conclusion that this is not the case after we held talks.’

Meanwhile, Stoke, who have a loan deal in place for Manchester City striker John Guidetti, are keen on AZ Alkmaar's Aron Johannsson too.
