Although injured forward Rick Nash skated with the team for the first time since missing three games with an undisclosed injury, the star winger is not expected to play when the Rangers host the Winnipeg Jets at Madison Square Garden Tuesday night.

But, the 28-year-old Nash said Tuesday's step was an important one toward making a return.

"[I'm] getting better," he said. "A positive day for sure, when you get back out and skate with the guys."

It is believed that Nash suffered a concussion two weeks ago after being slammed into the boards by Boston's Milan Lucic, although he declined to get into "specifics" when asked if his ailment was linked to the hit.

Nash sidestepped -- albeit diplomatically -- a direct question on whether he did, in fact, have a concussion.
