"Quick turnarounds? Michael Crabtree has made a couple.
In 2009, the 49ers wide receiver missed the first five weeks of the regular season because of a contract dispute. Still, coaches immediately inserted him into the starting lineup as soon as a deal was reached, and Crabtree responded by catching five passes for 56 yards in his NFL debut.
Last year, Crabtree sat out the preseason after suffering a neck injury in training camp. But he was in the offensive huddle for the first snap of the regular season.
"I've been here before," Crabtree said Thursday, a day after returning to practice from a broken foot. "It's nothing new to me. Like I said, I just got to take on that challenge and go out and do my best.""
