Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez is a late scratch for Game 2 of the NLCS against the Cardinals because of bruised ribs. Ramirez of course took a Joe Kelly fastball off the ribcage in the first inning of Friday's Game 1 (here's the play in question). He'll be replaced by Nick Punto who'll be batting eighth.
When healthy Ramirez has been the Dodgers' best hitter in 2013 as he's authored a batting line of .345/.402/.638 and put up a stellar OPS of 1.528 thus far in the postseason. However injuries limited him to just 86 games played during the regular season.
