What to do about Ricky Romero?

That was the $64,000 question that manager John Farrell and general manager Alex Anthopoulos tossed around deep into the night following Romero's disastrous outing Wednesday against Oakland where he allowed eight earned runs on four hits and six walks in just 1 1/3 innings.

The so-called "ace" of the Jays rotation has an era of 5.75 which is the third highest ERA for all qualifying pitchers in the American League. The left-hander has won each of his last six starts where his ERA is a combined 10.48

Romero termed his outing "embarrassing" but he has used the same word after numerous outings this season.
