As No. 3 quarterbacks go, Zac Dysert might be No. 1.

Peyton Manning, the 38-year-old starter, was a perfect 4-of-4 for 55 yards and a touchdown on his opening drive in Saturday's scrimmage against Denver's No. 2 defense.

Brock Osweiler, the third-year backup, was a perfect 3-of-3 for 33 yards and a touchdown on his opening drive against the No. 1 defense.

What could Dysert, a seventh-round draft pick in his second pro year, possibly do when it was his turn as the third man in? He went 3-of-3 for 57 yards in leading the No. 3 offense to an opening-drive touchdown against the No. 3 defense. Dysert nearly engineered a second touchdown, driving to the 2-yard line.

He was 7-of-7 for 112 yards at that point before throwing away a pass in the end zone on his final play of the day.
