Detroit Red Wings forward Johan Franzen took the good with the bad on Thursday, and emerged in good shape – he's healthy and his team won the game.

Franzen was shaken up twice during the 5-4 overtime victory over the Anaheim Ducks, a game in which he scored a pair of power-play goals to continue a surge that started late in the regular season.

Franzen took a shot in the groin area near the end of the second period and came back. Them he took a shot to the head in the third period and didn't return. But, Franzen said he anticipates playing Saturday in Game 3 at Joe Louis Arena after passing a series of concussion tests.

“First one was bad, second one wasn't bad,'' Franzen said.

After getting looked over in the training room during the third intermission, Franzen was on his way back to the bench when Gustav Nyquist scored at 1:21 of overtime.

“I had to check my head. That took some time, it's pretty big,'' Franzen said. “The tests were fine. I was on my way (back to the game).''

Getting hit in his private region by shot from teammate Henrik Zetterberg during a power play was more painful. Franzen was on all fours on the ice for a few minutes and then laid down in the dressing room for about five minutes.
