Technology has been slowly seeping its way into professional sports over the last several years more and more, and now the NHL is going with the trend. The league has struck a multi-year deal with Apple that should make it easier on coaches and players alike to make in-game adjustments. Rather than having to wait until between periods to go watch video in the locker room, players and coaches will now have access to an Apple iPad Pro on the bench.

All 16 playoff teams have had access to an iPad in what the league has termed a testing phase for incorporating the Apple product. Starting next season, all 30 NHL clubs will have an iPad on the bench during games. The idea is to help every team in the league make strategic adjustments using easy access to videos, photos and statistics.
