Newcastle star Yohan Cabaye has opened the door to a summer move to Arsenal or Liverpool after claiming he will assess his future at the end of the season.

The French international, 27, has recently been in sparkling form helping the Magpies to three straight victories over Chelsea, Tottenham and Norwich.

Cabaye, who was subject of a £10m bid from Arsenal in the summer transfer window, admits the lure of Champions League football may be too hard to turn down if an offer came around.

"I miss the Champions League. I'll finish this season with Newcastle and concentrate on the coming months and then we'll see," he told RTL.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is also monitoring Cabaye's situation and is weighing up making a summer move to bring him to Anfield.

Alan Pardew is desperate to keep hold of Cabaye and is not willing to let his star man leave St James' Park for less than £20m.

The midfielder playmaker revealed, despite missing the involvement in Europe's elite competition, he is currently enjoying life at Newcastle.

"I love to play in front of the defence, to have the whole game in front of me," he said.
