Mets third baseman David Wright is engaged to his model girlfriend Molly Beers, he told ESPN.
The 30-year-old star and the brunette stunner decided to tie the knot over the holidays, making the hot stove league hotter than ever. No wedding date has been set.
Beers accompanied Wright to the baseball winter meetings for the announcement of his new contract extension — an eight-year, $138 million deal with the Mets, inked after Wright wrapped up the season with a .306 batting average, 21 homers, and 93 RBIs.
"I'd like to finish what I've started," he declared when he signed the extension — with Beers and his parents beaming beside him.
Between the massive contract and popping the question, he's had an active off season.
Wright and Beers, an Arizona native, have been dating since at least 2008. They went public when the Mets slugger threw his galpal a surprise birthday party over the All Star break that summer.
And yes, she's a real girlfriend — the couple have been photographed together several times over the years.
