"The New Orleans Saints offensive line, along with every other unit, turned in an ugly performance in week 8 at St. Louis. The previously winless Rams hounded quarterback Drew Brees all afternoon, sacking him six times while handing New Orleans a 31-21 loss.
In the three games since, Brees has not been sacked once. Not coincidentally, New Orleans is on a 3-game win streak.
Payton said the team made improved protection a point of emphasis after the Rams game. More broadly, the offense rededicated itself to doing better on first and second downs, avoiding down and distance situations that put the unit and Brees at a disadvantage."
