"Terrence Williams sounded discouraged after completing a morning workout because the abdominal strain that kept him out of his third straight game isn't improving and he feels "throbbing pain, sharp pain" when he tries to turn.
This was the most work Williams did since he hurt himself in practice Monday.
"I don't know what to think," the Nets' valuable sub said. "I don't know if it's my groin, my hip. It's one area, but I'm getting treatment on my hip, my groin. I don't know."
The Nets, however, aren't concerned. This kind of injury takes time.
They leave today for a four-game West trip, which opens Monday at the Clippers. Coach Avery Johnson said Williams would run and play a simulated game in Los Angeles today and then be re-evaluated.
They expect Williams back at some point during the trip.
The lineup
Power forward Troy Murphy returned after missing Wednesday's win in Cleveland due to a sore right foot, but came off the bench.
Kris Humphries, whose 13-point, 18-rebound performance against Cleveland sparked the win, started. Humphries had just four points and seven rebounds Saturday."
