Brady Skjei’s time with the New York Rangers will be brief.

On Friday, the club sent its prized d-man prospect back to AHL Hartford, just one day after Skjei played his second NHL contest — a 5-2 loss in Minnesota, a game that fellow blueliner Marc Staal called “frustrating.”

Skjei, 21, was New York’s first round pick (28th overall) in 2012.
