Forward Chris Neil, who played 15 seasons with the Ottawa Senators and is their all-time leader in penalty minutes, announced his retirement Thursday.

Neil, 38, had 250 points (112 goals, 138 assists) and 2,522 penalty minutes in 1,026 NHL games, all with the Senators. He had 1,764 more penalty minutes than defenseman Chris Phillips (758), who's second on the Ottawa list.
