Nate Robinson doesn’t want to become a technical foul machine, but he doesn’t begin to pretend more aren’t on the way.

The Nuggets reserve guard is a fiery one. His teammates know it. His opponents know it. But more than any of all of that, the referees know it.

Robinson picked up his second technical foul in as many games on Friday night in the Nuggets’ win over the Knicks.

“He’s always wound up,” Nuggets coach Brian Shaw said, with a grin that quickly faded away. “That’s what you get with Nate Robinson. So we just have to continue to keep working on him on that. I told him, let me deal with the referees, you just play the game. But that’s easier said than done.”

Shaw said, “I’m going to have to talk to him about controlling his emotions. It’s almost like he has a target on his back, and the referees are just not going to tolerate him saying anything to them at all.”
