The 20-year-old, currently on loan at Verona, has been a consistent performer for the Serie A club, with five goals and two assists this term.

And the Argentine winger, dubbed as the 'new Lionel Messi', has now caught the attention of third-place Napoli.

But the Italian club will have to beat the likes of Verona - who have an option to buy in their loan deal - and long-term admirers Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal to his signature.

And speaking earlier in the week, Napoli director Riccardo Bigon hopes a transfer can be arranged.

He said; "When it comes to Iturbe we just need to talk with Verona, as they have the option to buy him.

"I don't hide that we are interested in him."
