"The conversation was brief and largely one-sided. Brett Myers was ticked last week over not making the Phillies' National League Championship Series roster, so general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said the only thing he could.
"I told him, "You still might make the biggest pitch of our season,' " Amaro recalled.
Turns out, that may not have been empty consolation.
The Phillies won't make final decisions about the composition of their 25-man World Series roster until after they know the identity of their opponent. But Amaro said Friday that adding Myers is "certainly something we'll have to consider," especially if they opt for 12 pitchers."
