Wesson native Farrod Green became the 17th prospect to give his verbal to Mississippi State in the class of 2015. But more than 17, there is a different number to focus on -- height.

Within the last week MSU received two commitments from tight ends 6-foot-4 or taller.

Green, a three-star prospect, joins Harrison Moon (Signal Mountain, Tennessee) as the two tight ends of the class. Green at 6-4 and Moon at 6-5 each have great size. It should be noted Moon is being recruited as a tackle.

If they end up signing with Mississippi State, they'll join class of 2014, which brought tight ends Darrion Hutcherson and Ravian Pierce. Hutcherson steps on to the field at 6-7. Pierce is 6-4.

The incoming classes finally brings size to a Mississippi State pass catchers. In the last five seasons MSU has had a receiver 6-4 or taller finish top five on the team in receiving twice. O'Neal Wilder finished fourth with 14 catches and 236 yards in 2009. De'Runnya Wilson had 26 receptions for 351 yards last year. That's it. Twice in five years.
