David Moyes insists Javier Hernandez will not be quitting Manchester United when the transfer window opens in January.

The striker has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in recent weeks having started just two matches in all competitions this term with Tottenham and Atletico Madrid believed to be interested in his services.

But despite the 25-year-old’s lack of game time since Moyes took charge in the summer the Scot insists Hernandez will get his chance.

‘It [Hernandez’s exit] is not a question for now’ said Moyes. ‘He will play a lot of games before the end of the season.’

Hernandez is reported to have turned down a move to Spanish side Valencia over the summer according to his agent but the Mexican may be forced to re-think his position before the season is over as he remains behind Robin van Persie Wayne Rooney and Danny Welbeck in United’s pecking order
