Mo Williams, Shaquille O'Neal left off All-Star team

"LeBron James will start his sixth All-Star Game on Valentine's Day, but for the fourth time he's going to be representing the Cavaliers alone.

Neither Mo Williams or Shaquille O'Neal were among the seven reserves selected by opposing head coaches to represent the Eastern Conference at the event in Dallas, the NBA announced Thursday.

The decision does not come as much of a shock, neither were considered favorites. Point guards Derrick Rose of the Chicago Bulls and Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics were voted in ahead of Williams. Chris Bosh of the Toronto Raptors and Al Horford of the Atlanta Hawks were voted in as big men ahead of O'Neal. Wings Gerald Wallace of the Charlotte Bobcats, Paul Pierce of the Celtics and Joe Johnson of the Hawks were also named as reserves.

It meant the Celtics, who also have starter Kevin Garnett in the game, have three players and the Hawks have two. Both are behind the Cavs in the standings. Rose and Wallace also play on teams without winning records. Those factors seem to be what irked Cavs players and coaches.

"It is unfortunate, I'm a firm believer in record having something to do with it," Cavs coach Mike Brown said after his team practiced Thursday and flew to Indianapolis for today's game against the Pacers.

"There are talented guys in this business who can be put in situations to go do what they want . . . there's not as much pressure on guys to perform the right way and get numbers." "
