Coming into the 2013 season Gary Pinkel was mentioned as a coach on the hot seat. Missouri was coming off a 5-7 season in 2012, it's first year in the SEC, and many fans wondered if Pinkel would make it through a second.

Well, a 12-2 record and an SEC East title later, it turns out Pinkel will be making it through quite a few more seasons, as Missouri announced they'd extended Pinkel's contract on Thursday.

“I'm very honored and proud to be the coach at Mizzou, and I appreciate the opportunity,” said Pinkel in the official release. “We will work very hard to continue to build our program and to graduate our players. It's important for our program to keep moving forward and build on a solid foundation.
