Missed chances frustrate Texas Rangers' Jones

"Andruw Jones is well aware he's only hitting .217 for the Rangers this season.

But what concerns Jones is that he's failing to produce when there are scoring opportunities.

He had an RBI Friday night, his 41st of the season. But Jones is only three for his last 24 with runners in scoring position.

He knows that isn't good enough for a team with playoff aspirations.

"I'm frustrated that I'm not producing when I'm the lineup," said Jones, who sat Saturday against right-hander Matt Garza. "I'm concerned about the production, not the average. I've never been an average guy. Production has always been my key thing, and I get frustrated when that doesn't get done."

Jones has been fighting a sore left hamstring recently, but he said that's no excuse."
