Lindy Ruff didn't need to provide any pick-me-up for his team before overtime Monday night. Ryan Miller did all the talking needed.

Undaunted by a tying goal with 3.5 seconds left in regulation, the Buffalo Sabres' goaltender strongly exhorted his teammates to get their desperately needed second point. They responded as Derek Roy fed Tyler Myers for the overtime goal that provided the 3-2 win over Montreal.

Asked what he said after David Desharnais' goal stunned First Niagara Center, Miller admitted he would have to edit his words for public consumption.

" 'Just don't feel sorry for yourselves. Go and get the win,' " was Miller's summary. "I just needed to snap everybody out of their surprise or shock or whatever happened at the end there. We protected pretty well for a while. That can stun a team. I just wanted to make sure we were ready to go compete."
