Among other issues, Ryan Miller has to figure out a way to stop doing his Joe Daley impression.
Daley played without a mask during the Sabres' 1970-71 inaugural season and that's unthinkable now. Except that Miller keeps flipping his lid and took a cut over the right eye in Wednesday's overtime loss to the Philadelphia Flyers because of it.
In the second period, a collision with teammate Brayden McNabb knocked the mask off and a Scott Hartnell shot clipped Miller, who stayed in the game. The mask came off again in the third period on a James Van Riemsdyk shot and Miller needed it jerry-rigged so he could continue. And, of course, the mask flew off from the hit Miller took from Boston's Milan Lucic and during the scrum after he was crunched Saturday by Nashville's Jordin Tootoo.
Miller unmasked, and that's a problem
