Miller enjoys frustrating Leafs fans

"Ryan Miller against the Toronto Maple Leafs is two points on the Sabres' ledger. It's the closest thing to a sure thing Buffalo has.

Miller made a couple key saves when his team needed them and the offense did the rest in a 6-2 victory Saturday night. Miller is 24-8 in his career against Toronto with a 2.16 goals-against average and .931 save percentage. The Leafs are the only NHL team he's won at least 20 games against.

"The media has told me the record, and they make a little bit of hype out of it," Miller said. "But it mainly has to do with the fact I really don't want their fans to have a fun time coming to Buffalo."

Easily the biggest of Miller's 23 saves came early in the second period on Colby Armstrong, sliding to his left to make a pad save on what turned into a two-on-one break in the Buffalo zone. About 30 seconds later, Paul Gaustad's wrist shot gave the Sabres a 3-0 lead and that was that.

"We bounced back from a tough game and I was happy to be there," Miller said, referring to Friday's 3-2 loss in Pittsburgh.

"He definitely made a couple huge saves there," said defenseman Jordan Leopold. "... We're there to bail him out at times and he does the same for us. He was on his game.""
