The Arizona Cardinals and Chicago Bears were interested, but apparently Mike Neal is staying put in Green Bay.

The free agent outside linebacker reported himself on Twitter that he'd be re-signing with the Packers.

He tweeted, "Hi Green Bay!!! I'll enjoy your winters for two more years!!"

Neal was one of the more intriguing DE/OLB options on the market for teams. A college defensive tackle, he moved to defensive end in Green Bay's 3-4 defense and then --- after three injury-plagued seasons --- moved to outside linebacker. Though still raw at the position, Neal excelled as a pass rusher with 30 pressures.

He lost more than 25 pounds over the off-season to move to outside linebacker. And with Mike McCarthy saying at the NFL scouting combine that he wants individual players to shoulder more responsibilities, keeping a versatile pass rusher like Neal makes sense.

Earlier Wednesday, the Chicago Tribune reported that the Bears may be interested in Neal. Instead, he'll stay put in Green Bay.
