​Aaron Rodgers return was met with much fanfare in the NFL. With expectations that Rodgers could help the Green Bay Packers to winning out the season in order to help them get into the playoffs for yet another season.

However, they ran into a buzzsaw known as the Carolina Panthers, and lost 31-24, leaving them in limbo with two games remaining.

Head coach Mike McCarthy suggested on Monday after the game that Rodgers sit out in Week 16 against the Minnesota Vikings, as the quarterback is feeling "sore," after this past Sunday.

​​What made Green Bay's loss that much more deflating was the Detroit Lions and Dallas Cowboys won as well, leaving the Packers far back in the race with a 7-7 record.
