"Browns president Mike Holmgren said Brady Quinn's foot specialist, Dr. Robert Anderson, also recommended no surgery on the Lisfranc injury in his left foot.
"That's what I understand,'' said Holmgren.
Holmgren said Quinn will come to Cleveland next week to be examined by the Browns medical staff, but that he still believes surgery will not be necessary. Anderson is located in Charlotte, N.C.
A source said Quinn should probably be able to resume football activity within six to 12 weeks if surgery is not required. If surgery is deemed necessary, Quinn would be out a number of months.
A Lisfranc injury is either a sprain, a fracture or dislocation of the bones and ligaments in the top midsection of the foot. Quinn suffered the injury on a 24-yard scramble on the gamewinning drive of the Kansas City game Dec. 20. He was placed on injured reserve Dec. 22 and has been in a walking boot."
