Mike Goodson chose the Jets over the Bengals as a free agent because of the fit, he said, and a large part of that was Gang Green’s new offense. Goodson, the team’s new running back, addressed the media for the first time as a Jet on a conference call Wednesday and said he felt that offensive coordinator Marty Morhinweg’s West Coast offense would suit him well.

“I definitely think it highlights some things that I do in my game, catching the ball out of the backfield, being able to isolate some linebackers, run some routes and also run the ball between the tackles, so I think it’s going to be good,” Goodson said.

“I like the offensive coordinator,” he added. “I think he’s going to be able to do some big things, I can’t wait to run and play in his offense.”

Goodson said the breakdown of snaps is “yet to be determined” between himself, Joe McKnight and Bilal Powell. Shonn Greene left the Jets as a free agent to join the Titans on a three-year, $10 million contract. Goodson signed with the Jets also on a three year deal, for $6.9 million.
