So what he does with the money he's earned is his, and only his, business. Bibby gave up $6.2 million so he could join the Miami Heat and chase what has eluded him throughout his career. The lure of an NBA title is why he sacrificed some loot to become the point guard threat that could be the Heat's final piece.

"I make the money and decide what I do with it," Bibby said. "It doesn't matter what anybody else thinks of it ? My financial stuff is my business and other people try not to get into it. The only people really getting into it is [the media]."

Bibby, who has made more than $100 million during his 13-year career, began flirting with the idea of playing in Miami when he was shipped from the Atlanta Hawks to the Washington Wizards at the trading deadline. The Wizards on Tuesday decided to buyout Bibby's contract, allowing him to become a free agent."
