Indianapolis Colts and former San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore is entering his 13th season as a pro and is about to turn 34 years of age. He’s well past what is normally viewed as the age when running backs break down, but Gore’s been breaking the rules since he overcame the “injury prone” label coming out of Miami in 2005.

Last season, Gore topped 1,000 rushing yards for the ninth time in his career. He now occupies the No. 8 spot on the NFL’s all-time rushing yards list (13,065 yards).

But despite his age and his accomplishments, Gore remains as fired up as ever to play the game of football as he looks ahead to the 2017 season.

He also revealed when he’ll know it’s time to hang up his helmet and shoulder pads for good.
