Miguel Cabrera is garnering plenty of attention as a candidate for this year's American League MVP -- and deservedly so.
But he's not the only Detroit Tigers player that continues to make a strong case for a coveted AL honor.
Justin Verlander remains in the mix for the AL Cy Young Award after tossing six shutout innings Wednesday night in the Tigers' 6-2 win.
"I guess you could say it was somewhat encouraging, but I wanted to go deeper in the game -- and that's what I'm disappointed about," Verlander said. "But, at the same time, I gave us a chance to win."
