The England midfielder, 23, has two years left on his contract but is set to be offered an extension after his impressive displays this season.

Boss Brendan Rodgers said: “He will certainly be one, the way he is working, we would want to secure his services.

“He still has all his best years ahead of him and you can see his growth and development.

“He will want to get better and I’m sure it is in the interests of the club to tie him down.”

Henderson will play with a cast or splint on his wrist at Fulham tonight after fracturing his wrist smashing into an advertising board at the weekend.

But while he wants to tie down Henderson, Rodgers insists he is relaxed about his own contract situation.
