While Adrian Beltre's ninth-inning homer may have been the most dramatic moment of the Rangers' 3-1 win over Los Angeles on Thursday, the most dominant moments all belonged to RHP Yu Darvish.

The rookie went eight innings, allowed one run, struck out nine and walked away with his 16th win. It gives him the record for the most wins by a Japanese rookie in the majors.

His streak of excellent work now stretches seven consecutive games in the heat of the late summer and the pressure of a playoff race. Darvish has now gone at least seven innings in six consecutive starts after going 6.2 innings against Detroit on August 12. In the eight start arc, he's compiled a 2.13 ERA, struck out 60 in 50.2 innings and held opponents to a .151 batting average. For September, he is 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA.
