Miami Hurricanes freshman guard Lonnie Walker has been fully cleared to play, head coach Jim Larranaga tells FanRag Sports. The 6-5 Walker suffered a meniscus injury and was just cleared for drills less than two weeks ago.

Walker is a five-star recruit, who played prep ball at Reading High School in Pennsylvania.

A former McDonald’s All-American, the up-and-coming guard was rated as the No. 16 overall player in 2017 by the 247 Composite rankings, which also billed Walker as the No. 2 shooting guard and No. 2 player in the state of Pennsylvania. Prior to his commitment to Miami, Walker fielded a host of offers from reputable programs such as Syracuse, Villanova, Kentucky, Indiana, Arizona and Virginia — among several others.
