Mark Buehrle isn't looking forward to crossing the New York Mets off his "never faced" list as much as he is facing a knuckleballer — as a batter — for the first time.
He will do both Wednesday at Citi Field when he goes against R.A. Dickey.
"I'm actually kind of excited because I've always wanted to face a knuckleballer," Buehrle said. "Not that it's easy to hit. But the few times I've watched them, I thought, that's my speed — 75 or 77. Obviously, the ball is moving all over the place."
Buehrle is a career .109 hitter.
"I'm not saying it's going to be easy," he said. "I could look bad against anybody. That isn't going to be anything new."
