"Before he left the court for good on Friday night at Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, LeBron James made sure to deliver a message to all Heat fans watching on TV.

"I can't wait to get back [to Miami]," James said before rattling off a few South Florida neighborhoods he said he was itching to see now that the Heat's season-long, six-game, 10-day road trip had ended.

To say James might have been trying to smooth things over with the Heat fanbase would be an understatement. Since telling reporters in Cleveland on Thursday that he wouldn't rule out a return to play for the Cavaliers one day, James tried to reverse the focus Friday to his commitment to winning a title in Miami.

But now that James and the red-hot Heat (24-7) will play at home Sunday against the Orlando Magic, the questions regarding his Heat commitment might grow a bit louder — especially after Yahoo! Sports NBA writer Adrian Wojnarowski added a little fuel to the fire Friday.

Citing sources, Wojnarowski reported that James "months ago had an emissary or two" carry a message to the Cavaliers front office about possibly returning to Cleveland and smoothing his relationship over with owner Dan Gilbert. Basically, Wojnarowski wrote, James is trying to lay the groundwork for a return once he becomes a free agent."
