A few hours had passed since the horrific outing the night before, but manager Terry Collins felt the same way. There are still no plans to shelve his struggling ace, Johan Santana, and hope that next year brings better fortunes.

There is no concern about his surgically repaired shoulder, sore ankle or the fact that he returned too soon from a 22-day stint on the disabled list that ended on Saturday.

"I'm planning on, certainly, in five days, seeing him back out there," Collins said before tonight's game against the Atlanta Braves.
