The New York Mets have had a devastating season in 2017.

Constant injuries had riddled the Mets, who many predicted to be a shoe in to make the playoffs for their third straight season. Now on the outside looking in, Mets' fans thought it would be impossible for their season to get any worse.

However, it appears that it could go that way.

According to multiple reports, the Mets are worried that starting pitcher Steven Matz is dealing with an arthritic left elbow. This report comes after manager Terry Collins announced that Matz would be heading to the disabled list.
